Nchute Community Center
The next RHO Appleseed Community Center
RHO Appleseed Community Centers, in cooperation with the community of Nchute, is proud to develop our second community center in the Nchute settlement about 40 km from Lusaka. RHO Appleseed has entered into a formal agreement with the Nchute Community Council to develop a 1/2 acre plot into a community center that will serve the greater Nchute community. Nchute has a government medical clinic and Nchute Basic School that serves about 450 students. This is a prime location for us to develop our second community center and our first rural-based site.
The Triangle of SustainabilityEach partner in the triangle has a vital role to ensure success. With corporations and donors, communities, and RHO Appleseed Community Centers working together we can continue to support and help communities develop, one center at a time.
Corporate Sponsorship and Private Donors: Provide start up funds for a lifetime of benefit. With one-time seed money and attention to low overhead costs the community will be able to sustain and grow it's center by offering affordables services to the community (i.e. preschool and event hire). Community involvement leads to community buy-in. A community seeking a community center grants the land for the project and accepts financial responsibility to maintain the facility and for operating costs. RHO Appleseed Community Centers manages the center. Management of centers includes day to day operation, maintaining a library and media center, generating revenue through offer of goods and services. The main goal is to achieve self-sufficiency and grow the center. Timeline of development through pictures |
