White is a quiet 11 year old boy. He is the middle sibling with 1 younger and 2 older brothers. All except the oldest son attends Appleseed. The Kempamba brothers have been at Appleseed for about 4 months. Someone in the community told their mother about RHO Appleseed and she spoke to our outreach worker, Vincent. Mary, our Director, is very careful about mid-year enrollees, but we take situations individually, and we agreed that White and his brothers needed to be at Appleseed, sooner, rather than later. We have begun to see a sparkle in their eyes and beautiful smiles!
White is a single orphan who lives with his mother and 3 other siblings. His father died about 4 years ago while living in the village of Kasama. Since her husband's death, White's mother has done her best to care for the boys. She is a part time maid, but makes very little and typically cannot feed them more than once a day. She is hopeful that Appleseed can provide the boys with a good education and nutrition.
Thanks to his sponsorship we were able to take White on a shopping trip to the local shopping mall called Manda Hill. He had a great time choosing his new clothes, eating ice-cream and playing video games. With continued sponsorship, we can help the family with basic needs and pay for all of White's educational expenses. Thank you Lucy and Daniel!!
