Anabel is a shy, but very sweet 5 year old. She lives with her uncle and her baby brother. Anabel's father died when she was just 2 years old. When interviewed, the uncle did not mention her mother. He said that Anabel was born very unhealthy and suffered a bad illness as a baby. He did not elaborate about what kind of illness. He believes that she is alive only by the grace of God. Anabel, her little brother and her uncle do fine with food. He says that they eat three meals a day, but is grateful for the meals that she gets at school. He feels that without RHO Appleseed School, education would be a problem as he can not afford a good education for Anabel.
We were able to take her shopping on Saturday, December 8th. She was very quiet, enthralled with the hustle and bustle of the big shopping mall. It was fun to watch her looking in the store windows. She had never seen such a sight before. As with all of the kids whom we take shopping, her smile and laughs erupted when she got in the trampoline at the restaurant and began jumping. This is always the best part for me!
